Israel is gearing up for a widespread general strike, sparked by ongoing protests that criticize the government’s inability to negotiate the release of hostages detained by Hamas. This tragic event led to massive demonstrations on Sunday, where crowds across Israel, including in major cities like Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, vented their frustration towards Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s administration for its perceived inaction in securing the freedom of the remaining captives from the October 7th attack by Hamas.The call for a one-day strike on Monday was initiated by Histadrut, Israel’s largest labor union.
