The controversial internet personality Andrew Tate has been placed under house arrest by a Romanian judge as prosecutors pursue serious new allegations, including sexual relations with a minor and trafficking of underage individuals.
Andrew and his brother Tristan Tate appeared in court on Thursday afternoon, where Tristan was placed under special judicial control. Prosecutors had requested that the brothers be detained for 30 days as part of an ongoing investigation that now involves 35 alleged victims, including a woman who was just 15 years old at the time of the alleged crimes.
Romania’s organized crime agency, DIICOT, issued a statement confirming that six individuals, both Romanians and foreigners, have been detained in connection with the case.
